The Suicide Prevention for Seniors training is free and funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.

It is suited to anyone supporting older people - whether in a paid or unpaid role as well as concerned family members or friends. The program is underpinned by evidence and will give you practical strategies to have a conversation with empathy, determine whether the person is having thoughts of suicide, support the person with a safety plan and referral. In addition, this training will teach you about the common causes of suicidal behaviour and particular issues surrounding suicide in older adults including risk and protective factors.

Our program is QIP accredited meeting all Suicide Prevention Australia standards. This program is delivered as a 3-hour workshop online via zoom. Assumes no prior knowledge in mental health or suicide prevention. Self-directed CPD points apply, and a certificate is provided upon request.
